When I was little, I didn't fully grasp the concept of infinity.  (Actually, I probably still don't!)  As I learned more about math and numbers, I gained greater clarity on the topic because I could see how someone could keep on counting forever and never reach an end.

In fact, math is an excellent way for our finite minds to get a small taste of how God can be infinite.  But numbers are infinite because the God who made them is infinite; that's why the creation helps us better understand the Creator.

Space is another example.  Scientists don't yet know whether or not space is infinite, but it's possible that it is.  It's definitely beyond the scope of our limited understanding and helps us to better fathom God's infinite nature.

In fact, God's infiniteness encompasses many of His other attributes.  Put another way, His other attributes work together to demonstrate the fact that He is unlimited.  For example, He is all-understanding (see Psalm 147:5); He is timeless (see Revelation 1:8); He is omnipotent (see Jeremiah 32:17); and He is omniscient (see Proverbs 15:3).  (We'll study a few of these other attributes in the days to come.)

Today's Assignment:  We won't be able to fully grasp God's infinite nature until we reach Heaven, but write down in your own words what you do understand about His infiniteness.  Include Scripture references to support your growing knowledge of His unlimited nature.
